YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #6 this issue is a split with one of my favourite zinesters, maranda elizabeth of telegram ma'am. it's pretty epic, 70 pages all together! i write about my brother visiting, are birthdays happy, going to brighton, meeting long distance friends & my newly discovered depression. maranda writes about riding her bike jolene and fighting anxiety, loneliness, small town adventures negativity, zine gatherings and more! i'm getting even worse at these descriptions. 1/4 size, 70 pages.

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #8 this issue of YOUR PRETTY FACE is mainly about work & worries. or how unhappy it was making me during the month of july. i wrote this zine during the last two weeks of the month, trying to get something finished in time for alternative press fair, and i was having an especially bad time. so the zine is quite angry and tearful (i cry when i'm angry. scream and cry. but mostly cry, especially when in public/at work) there's also a bunch about harry potter, which was eating my brain a little bit. & my love for luna lovegood. it comes with a 10 page minizine because i thought it was a bit too angry and mopey, and i wanted to just say that it's not that bad all the time. but i'm not sure i succeeded in that. handcoloured covers, as usual. 1/4 size, 26 pages + 10 page minizine

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #7 this issue of YOUR PRETTY FACE is a bit different (again) it is all about me and carl's two week trip back home to finland in beginning of february 2009. it has bits i scribbled in my notebook and snapshots taken while travelling, recount of what happened / was done and some thoughts on my family, my former self, the concept of home and where it is and memories from child. there's also a list of things i miss / think are better in finland. and a recipe for a finnish rhubarb curd pie. <3 comes with handcoloured covers. 1/4 size (landscape), 38 pages.

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #6 this issue is mainly about three things: 1) my boyfriend moving in + the adult problems caused by that, 2) feeling lonely and friendless and 3) the winter and how shit it is in england and way better in finland.. also has our two best evs chilli recipies. one meaty and one veggie, + one for sexy veggie filled jacket potatoes. i'm no good at these descriptions. comes with handcoloured covers. 1/4 size, 38 pages.

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #5 issue five is my 24 hour zine thing for 2008. made during the last weekend of july 2008. includes 'what might have happened if i was in glasgow celebrating my friend lori's birthday as i was supposed to?', general dissappointment of unfulfilled plans, the need to get out of chatham even for just an afternoon and being woken up by the police in the middle of the night. again. hand-coloured covers! 1/6 size, 22 pages.

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #4 issue four is all about my past 'relationships', written on the eve of my boyfriend moving in, and in the following couple of weeks. i've made many mistakes, most of them not huge, but they still plague my mind (some more than others) and i thought that by writing them down in a more permanent way than locked live journal entries in abandoned journals might help. i'm not sure if it has though, it's all still a bit fresh. i'm nervous about strangers and not-super-close friends reading it, i'm afraid they'll judge me. most of the things occured five or more years ago before i came to england and i've changed and grown a lot since. still not perfect, still a bit shit at people, but i'm trying. also includes some recipies and a mixtape. comes with handcoloured covers. 1/4 size, 38 pages.

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #3 when i finished issue 2, i thought i was going to start writing issue 3 right away with all my free time and freedom, but somehow that didn't happen. apart from a few pages, most of this issue was written five or six months (and more) later. this issue is about being a proper grown up. or something. there are bits about moving in to my little flat, work (& being very frustrated by it), worrying about pennies and bills, the exhibition i had in london with some of my old college friends in november '07, feeling like a failure in 'artist' sense, wanting to escape medway, being crap at being social, plans of carl moving in, going to ikea and other things. obviously there's some recipies too. 1/4 size, 46 pages.

THIS IS A RE PRINT! KERSA X #3 i was going through some old photocopies the other day and i came across an unassembled copy of my old zine KERSA X #3, and i thought a re-print was in order. i originally printed this zine few weeks/days before i left finland to come to england to study, but i wrote it and re wrote it a while earlier.. this 82 page zine was the third version of it, i kept being unhappy with it and rewriting and adding pages until it became this monster. the zine is simultaniously very text and image heavy (yes that is possible!) and it's mostly prose disguised as fiction but some of it is based on truth, some of it is just adolescent rocknroll fantasies. i don't seem to write in the same semi poetic manner anymore, i don't know what has happened, but i miss being that way. i haven't made too many copies, and i'm not sure if i'm going to make any more copies because they are bloody annoying to staple. 1 / 6 size, 82 pages.

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #2 this issue had actually been in the making for almost a year already when i did #1. this issue is much more personal and 'serious' with a lot more writing, mostly relating to my then situation of living with my boyfriends parents (being semi homeless, you know, "its not my home, it's their home" kind of way) trying to find a job so i could afford to get my own place, feeling useless and missing and going home / to finland. there's also recipies & some lists and.. none of it has really been edited, it's pretty much what i first wrote it down and i guess it reads a bit like a journal. unplanned and a bit rambly. some people call it a sense of immediacy. i hadn't written a proper zine with lots of words since i left home and finland (four years ago) and even then it was more fiction and a lot less personal and much vaguer.. i guess in a way it's my first 'proper' zine. comes in either bright neon paper or hand coloured white paper covers.. 1/4 size, 50 pages.

 

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL #1 (OUT OF PRINT) i made this one on my own mostly during last weekend instead of going to a birthday party. it's for the most part collages with a bit of text. it's completely unedited (except for one page that i left out because it was a bit shit) and it comes with fancy colour coloured in covers, at least for now. i really enjoyed making this. just sitting there, bot being able to stop cutting and pasting and using up all the black tape (oops) it's a nice change because i've been working on a more text heavy perzine and it's taking forever. and this one was just so instant. 1/4 size, 36 pages.

 

LOUIS XIV A VERSAILLES BY CARL ♥ in real life "louis xiv a versailles" is a book carl found in a "free!" box outside the library that he then filled up with collages whenever bored or sad. and this zine is a black and white xerox copy of some of its context. i myself think it's gorgeous, i love that book even though reading it always makes me sad because of certain pages (that are not in because carl's much more private than i am) 1/4 size, 38 pages. email him: carl at wastinmytime.co.uk www.wastinmytime.co.uk

 

YES DARLING BUT IS IT ART... OR ARSE? #2 previous to this issue me and carl had made 1/2 size effort called "fragile" named so because of the fragile tape we covered it in, but it appeared someone else had a zine by that name so we changed it. so there isn't really yes darling issue 1 at all. anyway, "yes darling, but is it art?" is an art zine by me and carl, a collection of collages, some very short stories, some of which are written in a normal way and some rearranged together from words in trashy novels to make them sound even dirtier. 1/4 size, 62 pages.
